The first event organised by the School for Wellbeing was a public lecture by Nobel Laureate Joseph R. Stiglitz at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bangkok.
The School for Wellbeing Studies and Research was founded, 20 August 2009, by three partners: Faculty of Political Science, Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok; Centre for Bhutan & GNH Studies, Bhutan; and Sathirakoses Nagapradipa Foundation, Thailand, an independent organisation founded by Sulak Sivaraksa in 1968.
